Tapeworks Rimstripes
Has anyone installed these on their bike?
What was the difficulty? What kind of cleaning requirement did you need to perform for the striping to adhere to the wheel/rim?

I got a set of precurved strips off of ebay. They where easy, I think tapeworks would be fine. You have to remember to stretch it some.
I took a scrub brush to my wheels and soapy water to make sure all the grease and road dirt was off them. I let them dry and put my strips on. They are fine after all weather and a year later.

Thanks! Anything like this to make my bike more visible at night - is something I'm going to want to do.IcyHound wrote:I got a set of precurved strips off of ebay. They where easy, I think tapeworks would be fine. You have to remember to stretch it some.

So far, I've ridden my bike twice - and both times have been late at night.

I will let you know, given the response below - and the relative low cost of the stripes - I'm going to get a set and give it a shot.Brackstone wrote:I was thinking about getting some of those let me know if you do and how it works out.
What color???? Who knows, but I seem to like making things a little strange looking.

I'm just not the most handy person but I'm also a perfectionist. It's really a curse.RhadamYgg wrote:I will let you know, given the response below - and the relative low cost of the stripes - I'm going to get a set and give it a shot.Brackstone wrote:I was thinking about getting some of those let me know if you do and how it works out.

It'll easily take me twice as long to do it as someone else and when it comes to things that "stick" like tape you usually don't get more than one try.
I'm probably going to get silver, I think you could get away with the silver as well since I believe the flames on the side are silver. But you could also get RED as well and I think that would look pretty cool.

I think it's because they all use the same color base.Pittance wrote:I checked the matching chart for kawa. Why do they only have a few models listed? No mention of the 250, 500, 650, or much else that isnt a 7/z something. Weird.
the 7z is probably using the same red they used years ago.
That's just my guess. Otherwise they are just goofing it up

Do they reflect light, or are they more for looks then anything?
