Is this a good deal or a scam.

I found this on craigslist and I just emailed him to see if he had the bike and why he was selling it for 3000 but here is the post..

This bike is a 9.6/10 - It's that simple. An 2006 Honda CBR600rr that rides, shifts, accelerates, looks, and feels exactly as it should. Rare orange and black "Siberian Tiger" paint scheme. Just went through a dealer maintenance inspection. The after market Yoshi undertail exhaust makes this bike sound like a dream. Custom license plate holder is tastefully and flawlessly done. I can not foresee anyone being displeased with this bike. Bike is ready to roll, clear title and only 3,380 miles. Inspected until 11/2008.

It looks brand new and only 3000, whats you're guys' input on it?

$3000?

Definitely something wrong with it.

The fact that such a new bike has a custom paint job tells me it was probably dropped at speed.

The price tells me something is probably mechanically wrong with it.

You must be from Maryland in the Baltimore area because I saw the same bike when I was helping a friend shop.

My friend described it as this

"Someone looking to steal your $3,000 when you show up for the bike"
Ducati Monster 1100 (Vrooom!!)
Aprilia Shiver 750 (sold)
2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250cc (sold)

I don't think it was repainted, I think the seller was pointing out the paint scheme because it's not common, and maybe sought after?

But that price definitely seems way to low. I'd say scam. But check it out, if you can meet the guy, take the bike up to a mechanic for an inspection. If it all checks out, and he has title in hand, buy it.

It does seem to good to be true but I agree with the rest, might as well check it out and see what it has to offer. The worse is a wasted trip. :)

That description and no phone number/name to call screams scam. Even with a phone number, I'd be wary enough to pass.

99.5 times out of 100, a deal like this will turn out to be a scam. The other .5% of the time, it might actually be someone who just want to get rid of the bike fast.

I usually don't even bother to inquire when I see ads like that.

I'm right along with you guys my first thoughts were its a scam don't bother, but I decided to email the guy and see what he says, I am from Fort Wayne Indiana so not around the Baltimore area or anything but I have seen this paint scheme around so its not to uncommon. I'm hoping he returns my email with a phone number so I can go check it out, I will have to take it to a mechanic and see if theres anything wrong with the insides (engine and all that good stuff)

I am really hoping its legit lolol.

Then go check it out, without cash in hand. Have a look at the title, take the VIN home to check with the DMV that it has a clear title. Have the seller turn it on and ride it around the block.

If it checks out, go for it.
