Hello from Chicago

#1 Unread post by JMack »

Hi all, thought I should introduce myself. I'm from the Chicago area. Signed up for the MSF class later this summer. Looking to get a Honda Rebel as a starter bike (I'm small and like to start slow) and then probably a Honda Shadow VLX or a Yamaha V-Star Custom (the custom has a nice narrow seat for us short legged people) as my second. My husband is also starting up with me (I short of dragged him into it). My dad has had motorcycles for most of my life and now that I am almost done with grad school (hopefully), I thought I might as well get one too. Thanks for the great site, I've been lurking for almost a year, reading as much as I can before diving in.

:welcome: to TMW...

It appears you've done your homework. Glad to see that some people take good advice, starting small ia a smart thing to do. Great that you've decided to join the site...

Welcome to the board. Hope you and your husband enjoy the rides! Do you know if Pizzeria Uno is still open in Chicago??? Best deep dish pizza going.

Thanks for the welcome all!
Social Distortion, thanks for the invite, I'll send you an email once I finally get my license and bike.
Last time I was in a Pizzeria Uno I was actually in Madison, WI. For deep dish I go Giordano's usually. Good stuff and one of the few places that deliver to my place.

Welcome aboard. I've been on here about a month now and although I've been riding for 10+ years, I'm learning tons. You're gonna like it here. :tricycle:

Nice to see another newbie from Chicago. I just joined and thought I'd say Hi. If you want to hit the roads, just send me a pm. I'm on the NW side of the city and like to head north, where it's a little more hilly and a lot less busy. But I'll ride anywhere, always ready for a ride- well, when schedule permits it. :) Ride safe and have fun. ps. You're right- Giordanos has very good pizza.
