Man, that hurts just to read about it! Sorry to hear this. How's your leg?

I have to appologize for not responding earlier, this has been one hell of a week. I did have the "minor" accident on Saturday, and it fairly well ruined my weekend. My leg is way better, the swelling has almost completely gone although the pain is still hanging around. I'm heading back to work tonight but don't really feel up to it.

What totally ruined my week was being told Tuesday, that on Saturday afternoon, my aunt was killed in a motorcycle accident shortly after I had mine. A group of four bikes were riding together and the bike behind hers, (She rode pillion) touched front wheel to rear and her boyfriend lost control and she was thrown from the bike hitting her head on a boulder at the side of the road. Needless to say, as a part of her friends influence, a little skid cap was all she was wearing, not to say she would have been any better off wearing anything else. She was the rock of our very large extended family and will be sorely missed...

Please ride safe everyone, and if you're riding in a group, for safety's sake keep appropriate spacing...

Okay, I want to know if it's a bad thing to go see a movie by yourself.

Nothing wrong with going to a movie by yourself. I sometimes go by myself because I like it. If you go by yourself, you will actually see that quite a few people go by themselves.

Why do I like going alone? Because there isn't someone sitting beside me asking, :what did they say?", "what did that mean?" "what did they say?" "what did they say?"
I feel like yelling at them to pay attention.....

So I sometimes go alone so I can watch and listen with no interruption that then make me miss some dialogue.

So go alone and enjoy the movie.

I avoided a major wipe out yesterday, but wasn't able to avoid the collision. Riding in near stop and go traffic on the freeway, I pulled onto the paved shoulder to strip down my jacket to the mesh level as it was so hot. As I slipped to the side of the road, a small pickup pulled over right into me. Scuffed the fairing, broke the left engine cowling and to top it off, his rear bumper caught my leg as he rolled by... Owww!!!

Luckily I was able to keep the bike up and pulled off the road to exchange info.

Damn that hurts...

Sorry to hear about the accident, but very glad you were able to ride your way out of it. Hope the inusrance claim goes through without too much bother.

Besides the physical damage, this kind of thing always shakes your nervous system up a bit. I know it does mine.

I overslept
I got up in a panic
I hared off down to St Albans on the SV with all sorts of things jiggling around inside my hastily packed and open back pack
I spent a day green laning on a Honda XL350
It was brilliant fun until I came off and pulled half-a-dozen muscles in my back

It was great fun anyway. Never done it before. Looking forward to doing it again.

Today (as in today)
I'm doing everything very, very s-l-o-w-l-y and with the occasional involuntary "mowl" (something halfway between a moan and a howl).

Hi blues.

The English countryside is criss-crossed with thousands of 'green lanes', mostly ancient paths which, over the centuries have achieved the status of public rights of way. (Until recently it was illegal to walk anywhere in the English countryside except on a public footpath.) The green lanes are unsurfaced, often grassy and rutted, sometimes gravelly, usually narrow. The gravelly or muddy ones often have huge potholes in them. Sometimes they ford rivers or get waterlogged in wet weather. Sometimes they have tiny streams running down them.

They have many different classifications, 'by-ways', 'bridleways', 'public footpaths', etc. The classification determines who can use them (pedestrians, equestrians, etc.) Some types of green lane are open for use by two-wheeled vehicles. So that's what 'green laning' is, motorcycling down green lanes on trail bikes.

On Wednesday, with all the rain we have had recently many of them were very, very slippery, especially the chalky ones. I came down off a bank into a rut, didn't get the wheel aligned right, lost the bike and fell badly. I bashed my shoulder in exactly the same place as last time and tore a number of muscles in my back. No breakages though.

So long as I don't sneeze, cough, laugh or breathe, I'm fine. - or rather (Mustn't get excited - too painful!)
