Following up on this, how did you decide to insure your motorcycle fully? I live in a safe area and my motorcycle isn't that expensive but the insurance is pretty high. Sure, I lock it and have a disc lock but as everyone has said, those aren't huge deterrents.
I wasn't going to insure it for theft but I'd love to hear your thoughts on how you made this decision for yourself so I can see if I'm missing something.

Mine is fully insured, parked in my garage at night, and within sight of my office when at work. Beyond that, there is nothing else. I have considered LoJack, but since I don't have it on my truck (2006 Nissan Frontier crew cab), I don't feel the need to put it on my bike. If a thief really wants either, he's going to take them. I just make sure that my insurance premium is always paid up, and covers replacement. Such is life.

Some good information on alarms however, I fly to an island 70 miles away and a pager alarm is just not an option unless they can send the signal that far. I do work on a military base, you would think that is secure. This isn't the case, a friend of mine got his full dress H/D 28K$ stolen right out of the parking lot. they picked it up and hauled it away. This is what I am worried about...I am not sure how wanted my particular model of bike is in the underworld. But, if I came back from 8 days out on the island and my bike was gone I would be pissed. Full coverage or not, it is still a PITA. Does anyone know much about LO-jack(?)...Cost, coverage, alert system and ease of use?
