Should I be worried...........

#1 Unread post by MOOCH »

Should I be worried about having to choke my 86 Intruder everyday? Not every start, but after it sits for 10 or 12 hours. I work 12 hour shifts and I have to choke her for a few minutes or it won't stay running. Is 12 hours long enough to be considered a cold start? Thanks in advance.

Well I don't know if there are any differences in choke. when I had my Ninja 250 I had to choke it before I left for work and after I was coming home.

12 hours is definitely long enough to be considered a cold start. It'd probably be pretty safe to consider it after about an hour and a half depending on the temperatures surrounding it.
I would say no, don't worry about it unless you have to choke it for longer than a minute or two...

You're choking a 22 year old Intruder?

Seems fair.

A lot of people would use a baseball bat or a shotgun. Just make sure he learns his lesson!

Yep, and it is still like that. :) I view this as normal behavior. It doesn't take the whole work day either.
