Riding makes your senses soar????

A couple of years ago, hubby & I rode the Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee NC to the end up in VA and when we rode through Roanoke the Red Bud's were blooming. I will never forget the sweet smell of those flowers.
I always notice the beauty of the mountains and clouds, but have you ever smelled kudzu blooming??? It is like ripe concord grapes---awesome when I'm riding my bike.
On another note, when I go down the mountain toward town and the chicken farmers have just cleaned out the houses, it's horrid

We don't have kudzu here....it sure is mentioned in a lot of novels though.

As for smells.....I love it when I ride by a freshly mown lawn, or by the river where the cottonwoods grow.....then there is the fraser Valley and all the farms.....One does a lot of mouth breathing through there.

We have tons of Kudzy here. It is actually against the law to plant any anywhere. It takes over everything and quickly. I think it is beautiful.

Instead of saying, Your kid is growing like a weed, you say they are growing like Kudzu.

I live in a place where micro climates thrive. I can ride a total of 12 miles, and ride through pockets of super cooled air and pockets of very warm air. I like feeling the differences when I ride. I can ride in temperatures in the sunny high nineties and within an hour be in super thick fog where it is between the 50's and 60's temperature wise.

Yes it does.. sometimes that's not such a good thing, especially if your riding through a cow pasteur...lol

Yesterday, we rode past a corn field that was recently cut down and tilled. It was a nice damp earth kind of smell, nothing pungent about it.

Also I love the stillness of an early morning sunrise with the sunrise just making its presence known and you can still see the night sky and stars.

Gotta watch out for those livestock trucks as well.
Not a motorcycle related story (I can just image the mess it would have made had a bike been involved tho) One of my friends was cruising on the highway in his convertible Mazda Miata when his car broke down. He pulled over to the shoulder to call for assistance and wait for a tow. A cattle truck drove by....you know, the ones with the holes in the side for the cows to get air and cool off, the same holes that allow air in, allow the poop out..... Sure enough, a couple of those critters let go when the truck drove by and my friends car, inside and out and all over my friend as well... blasted. Runny cow poopies everywhere!!!
He said the tow truck driver was very nice about it...
I always think about this story when I see a biker on the side of the road in cow country.

Rode through Cherryfield, Maine, the Blueberry Capitol of the World (end of September early October).

It was a great sweet smell of something closer to maple syrup and a hint of blueberry. Yum!
