Trouble keeping my float from gumming up. Told to drain carbs when bike sits. One carb screw is on located my Vulcan 500 so that I can not position my hex key in a straight on position to loosen. Its on the inside side of the bowl. Any clever thoughts?
Also if I want to run the fuel out of the carbs what position should the fuel be in as "on" is supposed to be an automatic shutoff when machine is off. Does that make sense?

PRI or prime position will allow the fuel to flow while the bike is not running.
If your floats are getting stuck then you will most likely need to take the carbs apart and clean them. Might not hurt to get new float valves and needles while you are at it.
