Kawasaki zzr 600 e model

#1 Unread post by M.M.1.9.8.0 »

Hi,

Im new to this forum so sorry if i get a few thing wrong.

I Recently noticed on the way to work yesterday that when i opened my bike up the revs seems to rise fast but the accelaration is slow, its almost as if i am pulling the clutch lever in slightly. Also their seems to be a loss of power.

I Drive 110 mile a day, and the bike gets used 6 days a week and it has never done this before.

I'm thinking maybe the clutch cable needs adjusting maybe a bit looser but surly if anything, after all this time i should need to tighteren it,?

Has anyone got any ideas or had the same problem?

Thanks for any help that can be given.

If anything the cable is too tight, that would cause your clutch to slip.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Clutch Plates -

#3 Unread post by Against.Da.Grain »

Sounds to me like your clutch is slipping. You ride your bike a lot so this is bound to happen. The clutch is very easy to change on the ZZR600. You may only need the fiber plates check the thickness of the metal plates with a micrometer. Remember to pre-lube the plates by soaking them in oil before reinstalling them. Make sure you purchase new springs and a new gasket too. If it's your first time doing a clutch job pick up a manual. http://www.gdlcycles.com/asp1/modetails ... ake=ZZR600

Good Luck
