2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 - Choke problems

Hey guys, new rider here (I have taken the MFS course). I bought my bike last month but just started having this problem. The bike will start just fine when it is choked and will even run on half choke, however when I shut the choke completely off the engine dies. This happens even when the engine is completely warm so I don't think I am shutting the choke off prematurely. There is also a noticable response delay when I open up the throttle to accelerate. It seems like it might be something simple but I am not sure where to start. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Response delay happens on my Vulcan 500 when the engine is not hot enough. Also you can adjust the idle screw so it won't die with no choke, it should idle fine when you push the choke all the way in. If it dies, then slowly rotate the idle screw until it is fast enough to run but not to slow as to stop the engine.

Besure to run the engine on choke for a minute or longer before turning the choke off. If it stops remember to adjust the idle screw. The idle screw is on the same side of the engine as the choke.
