The weather is supposed to get ugly tomorrow so I thought I would take a little cruise around town tonight. I'm on a four lane road, in the right lane, as I approach the intersection a car comes from the side road makes a rolling right on red, now I'm in the intersection and a second car follows through right behind the first. I move to the left hoping this idiot will stop, they don't. I continue moving to my left and into the left lane going around the front fender within a foot or so. As I pass I get back into the right lane and point to my head and raise my hand -as in WTF was that? They flash their high beams at me which was the final straw (I know it's better to let it go but I was really PO'd now) . I pull over and they pass turning into the first community, following in with them they get stuck at the guard gate. I pull up and it's a lady who rolls down her window and says she's sorry. I tell her, loudly, her sorry won't do me any good when I'm dead and pull off before I lose it.
These people need to wake up.
Lesson on my end: stay in left lane when going through intersections, keep room for emergency manuvers- thankfully I had the room tonight
Almost taken out

Yer lucky she didn't call her daddy to come a runnin' with his gun. Sometimes I have to wonder about people, are they just plain stupid, homicidal or hate riders because of the freedom we seem to have?JungleJim wrote:The weather is supposed to get ugly tomorrow so I thought I would take a little cruise around town tonight. Rich assfaces tend to not care about anyone anyway since they have money to get a great lawyer to make it go away. Wealthy people also can have sway with a judge than some dirty biker. Another is that people see bikes being small aren't too much of a threat so they can bully us around to let them have their way.
One thing you can count on: You push a man too far, and sooner or later he'll start pushing back.

As much as you have the right of way, it's of little consequence in a crash. Here in Toronto, I expect cars to do the "rolling right on red", and often they don't disappoint. Hell, I've seen cops do rolling rights on red, and once had to slam on the brakes so I didn't get their black and white on my a$s.
I expect rolling rights on red and look for an escape route at every intersection. Either ensure the lane next to you is clear, move to the next lane so they have space, or be prepared to brake hard while going through the intersection. You're not going to change their driving behaviour, and if cops are doing it, then it's certainly widespread.
A loud-a$s horn from an SUV or an air horn is good for letting off steam, and maybe warning the second driver. Maybe. I use my horn a lot.

Loud pipes do not save lives. Loud pipes annoy people and generate tickets. They turn normal people against motorcycles because they're so annoying. Do you think the guy in the full sized F-150 hears you until you blast past.
I bet you wouldn't like it if I flicked boogers at you.

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.
