I think the demographics of an area have a more profound effect on a study like this than does the year it was done, personally. Of course, I would love to see a new study done in the US and/or Canada, but with results from each individual state.

The rider deficiencies in the Hurt Report are the basis for the curriculum taught by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation courses, particularily the Experienced Rider Course. The MSF Basic RiderCourse is also the one which the Canada Safety Council's Gearing Up course (which now has a new name, but I forget what it is) is based on.

These courses also haven't changed in 24 years...
