But if he's looking for performance, he wouldn't be considering Harley's, right? You buy a Harley for looks, not performance. So how 'bout a Rocker?

Not necessarily, the XR1200 and the VROD are pretty performance oriented!

Has anyone else noticed he hasn't been back yet to check in?

Ahhh snookered again. Or maybe he didn't turn on the e-mail notification thingie.

But this is a good topic, I think.

There are actually Harley's that I'd be interested in... If they didn't cost so much money.

XR1200 is a decent example - it is more of a standard motorcycle than a cruiser - at least for the location of the pegs.

I thought the same thing about the V-ROD until I read this thread. I actually do like the way it looks too and I've seen some on the web with windscreens.

But the price - it's sooo prohibitive. Can't even find a used one for a decent price. Although getting a new one - you can get ABS as an option.

Maybe I'll have to sit on one. But what's the point? If I like it, I'll only get to pine about how I can't afford the damned thing.

I'll tell you when I see it at the Motorcycle Show at Jacob Javitz?

I'm not a big fan of cruisers; however, I'd ride a Honda Valkyrie in a second. I was looking at some pictures of a used one at a local dealer and noticed the peg position was more standard than cruiser.

And something would scratch my funny bone about having a six cylinder motorcycle when my cars have been 4 cylinders except for the first two I had...20 years ago.

I am looking to purchase my first Harley however I am still unsure of the best route. I currently have a CBR600 and while fast, I generally find I don't use the speed...especially in D.C. Honestly there is no location to let the power loose and fairfax county cops HATE sport bikes. I am looking for something to cruse on the weekends and take out when traffic isn't nuts.

I was thinking of a sportster model however I am getting the impression I will outgrow that fast. I like the look of the nighster however the street bob catches my eye more. Additionally, the street bob is an affordable bike.

Does anyone own a street bob? How well do you like it?

Suggestions are welcome.
How about a Buell?
