Duh!! we're all RIDING in warm weather ... no one would show up!! What else do we have to do in January/February?

P
Warm weather gets people thinking about bikes and then waddya know? There's a bike show. People, including myself, were able to park within the parking lot area because it's a bike show and no one would suspect bikes parked outside to be out of ordinary... of course there's a space limit.

With the cold chill in the air this weekend it's a possibility not many people will show up. Maybe March would be good, not exactly riding weather but usually warmer.
I gotta agree with JC Viper. I like taking trips with my motorcycle, don't get me wrong, but I like it even more when there is a destination :)

Having said that I'm sure that's what motorcycle rally's are for :P

You can drive to a park and ride and then take a bus to NYC - just over one of the bridges or the tunnels. There aren't any subways that go to Javitz, so its walk or cab. I'm not sure - maybe bus, but I don't think so.

We'll be there on Saturday. I have mid-length white/grey hair and I'll be harried by two children and my pregnant wife. :)

there are buses that go from Penn Station to Javits center and are pretty frequent but honestly it isn't that far of a walk from 34th St. 8th Ave. subway stations. Of course I wear those tight Under Armour cold weather gear so I could withstand walking in the cold no problem.

If I go on Friday it'll be in the afternoon and if I go on Saturday it'll be around 5.
Which bus goes from Penn Station to Javits? My wife expressed a lot of interest in that. Normally we'd just walk, but it is supposed to be "O Ring"-freezing temperatures tomorrow.

Well, it is kind of like all the motorcycle dealers around NJ. You won't catch one open past 7PM, or even 5PM on a Friday. They would rather be out having fun.

I suspect it is the same for Motorcycle Shows in NYC. The people involved would rather be riding.

Just got home from the show and for me it was great. I sat on everything I thought I was going to be interested in and narrowed things down a lot. Also picked up a bunch of gear (pants, back armor, warm weather jacket and 2nd pair of gloves), now I just need to go buy the first bike. Probably going to decide between a blast and a dual purpose.

That's so cool! I can't wait to get there tomorrow. Even with the full family platoon I should at least get a chance to sit on a bunch of bikes and maybe get some gear.

I'm gonna be there at around 5PM Sat. (err today) with a leather bomber and blue jeans... by myself... not gonna have something noticeable really... hmm

I definitely gotta pick up new riding pants and flexible LED brake strips and maybe a new helmet.

Well, we haven't left yet... We'll probably still be there around 5PM.

I'm wearing a long-sleeve Tool shirt - older son - blue dragon shirt, younger son red Disney dash shirt, wife grey shirt.

We'll have a stroller of some sort I'm sure.

There were too many people with strollers and similar description of family so I didn't see any of you guys there.

I bought some Rescue Tape and more flexible LED strips. I didn't see any riding pants I liked and missed the stunt riding but oh well. I took some pictures but it felt like last year's show so I didn't take too much, and no pictures of booth babes because I'm shy and shaky like that.

I was kind of surprised by a couple things. The number of people there at all (given one of the magazines indicating that the German show was very low in number), the number of people there with kids and the relatively small amount of floor space allotted to the show.

I sat on a crapload of bikes, and still missed sitting on some that I should have - like the B-King and the 1125CR.

I did find that sitting on cruisers without the sales guy holding it up was much better than sitting on one when they were holding it up. I think maybe I keep trying to keep balance while the sales person was holding it up.

A bit of a downer, the blackbird I wanted sold. :( Oh, hell, back to searching for a bike again.

I got to see the Honda DN-01 in person and it doesn't look like a bad bike. I don't know why the reviewers kept ragging on its looks. Performance is another thing but considering it's a Honda it shouldn't be a bad bike.

Now price is the big minus considering that the Aprilia Mana is cheaper.
