Sand is a constant in south Jersey - we have many sand side roads that intersect paved main roads, and of course vehicles track the sand out on the pavement. Also sand on the shoulders won't stay there, always gets out on the road.

Cool ! I've watched a bunch of motorcycle videos on youtube ... but didn't realize that YOU were THE "Crash" ! Duhhhhh. lol

Freshly cut grass can be a hazard also.

Early in the week I was riding and noticed a friend in his garage. I had just passed him so I attempted a U turn to go see him. I pulled way to the right side of the road applied a touch of rear brake and was turning when I felt my rear wheel squirt out to the right. I went down and left a bit of skin on the asphalt. Looking as to what caused me to go down was that someone had dropped his grass clippings on the side of the road.

From now on, when attempting to do a U turn, I will stop completely see what is or is not on the road then start my turn. Slower, but I think it will be safer.

Yup, you got to keep your head on a swivel. I've caught myself riding through something and thinking "What was that" because I wasn't paying attention.

Deeper in the summer anti-freeze, diesel and oil spills become a bigger problem as well...
