How much are you will to spend on a new DOT appoved helmet at a event? Mfg warranty and any return fitment issues while event is going on.

I like to wear the helmet for at least half an hour before I buy it. I could spend say $300 or so.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Always wear a helmet, eye protection, and protective clothing. Never ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

It's my head. I really need it. Whatever DOT full-face that fits well is the first criterion, then after that I will consider price and extras, like shields, weight, finish, etc.

I guess the question sounds incomplete to me. If the helmet costs $1200 list and is being sold for $500, and it actually fits me, that's a hell of a sale price. So I guess it would matter more to me that I was getting a great deal on that specific helmet...

At current time I dont spend much on a helmet as its impossible to find a helmet that fits and its not worth the manufacters time to make smaller fitting helmets that are DOT/Snell aproved. I couldnt ride races last year for the reason that my helmet didnt meet the competition standards, they didnt care that Id rather have one that kind fitted then not at all but meet the standard.

depends on if I need a new helmet or not and if the price is right. If I dont need a helmet $0 would be spent.

If I dropped and cracked my helmet and had to have one then it depends on the cost of the helmet vs retail etc etc etc. Just like Dr.Bar said.

The last lid I bought at a show cost £320 ($450) (It was knocked down from £420.) I probably wouldn't buy a lid that expensive again.

Keep in mind that expensive helmet does not necessarily mean it;s safer. Its all about marketing. As long as it's DOT and Snell Certified. I am OK with it.
