Unbelivable

#1 Unread post by UTRider »

So I'm sitting inside checking e-mail and that, listening to the wind howling outside, when I hear a *crash*.

Open the door and see my motorcycle laying on it's side and the cover flapping in the wind.

Took me an two neighbors to upright it (going against the wind).

Glad the landlord let me move it to a spot closer to the building were if the wind catches it again, it will just make it lean against the building!

Be glad it wasn't your old Interstate 1200 - some of your intestines may still be laying outside, next to the scoot !! :D
Goldwings - If it's between your legs, it might as well be enormous, and smooooooth.

Had to pick it up twice by myself. Don't want to think of that in this wind!

Picking up my B-King was terrible - I sympathize with you totally. Did you get any damage?

A bike cover is not a good idea when the winds are howling. I left a cover on a CB550K on it's centerstand many moons ago in a super windy night and sure enough when I woke up the bike was on its side..... :?

Looks like only a few scratches on the rear turn signal, and the break leaver on the front. Got off lucky.

Lesson learned, didn't think the wind before the storm was going to be this bad . . . I thought it was worse a couple weeks ago, but I guess I was wrong. No way was I going to get the cover back on in that wind . . . so now it sits outside with two inches of snow on it. :x

Leaving it on its centerstand was the first mistake.

Stoopid Boulderites. A rant from a redneck.

The BMW GEEKS in Boulder Co. call that "giving the motorcycle a patina" BS it is letting it sit uncovered to rot. Sorry a little rant there for "educated" people that should know better. I understand how it is when you don't have a garage. Good luck with that. Spring/summer is just around the corner.

Last fall I came home to find my bike about 30 feet from its normal spot.

Lying in the grass.
