Bike Polish/Wax

#1 Unread post by ya_zuma »

What do you use to polish/wax your bike. A lot of bikes seem to have a combination of metal and plastic. Do you use the the same product on both?
Thanks in advance.

I use Dri-Wash'N'Guard on everything but the tires and leather. It's a one-step waterless wash and "wax" (actually a polymer and UV inhibitor) that I have used on all my bikes, all my cars, my helmet and visor, and even some mail-processing machinery at my previous job.

Good stuff!

Can I use car wax to wax my bike? I duno whether i should use it on the plastic fairings part. If not, what should I use? I just washed it right now with car soap and water and blasted the small metal parts with the compressor, let it dry and just polished the metal with a towel.

i use lemon furniture polish on the tank, chrome trim, and all of the plastic chrome as well as the fenders. works like a charm. works great when you dont have time to wash but want a quick nice shine.

i used the new armor all gel system it worked great. i hate to wax my car, and cant imagine trying to wax the bike with all the tight areas and un even services. so the gel stuff you just put a small amount on the towel and use it to dry and it waxs at the same time. worked great for me.
