I haven't been in to naming my bikes. Maybe I need to own a bike for more than a year to get to the point of knowing it well enough to name it.

In some African tribes they don't name a kid until they're two. The infant mortality rate is so high that they don't want to become emotionally invested until there's a decent chance of the kid living. Maybe that holds for your bike!RhadamYgg wrote:I haven't been in to naming my bikes. Maybe I need to own a bike for more than a year to get to the point of knowing it well enough to name it.

My bike doesn't has a name... she has a nickname... it's "muneca" it's in Spanish and translated would be something like little doll. My car also has a nickname... it's "the pink panther"... it used to be red... but with time it has lost some of its color intensity. My wife's car also has a nickname, it's the "crazy egg"... is one of those little compact cars.
Although, I do play guitar, and the four of them do have names.
I hadn't realized how intimate it becomes when you name things.

That could well be. I think they also have coming of age rituals where the teenager goes out to become a man and picks a new name.RockBottom wrote:In some African tribes they don't name a kid until they're two. Yea but those rituals also involve a very personal act and a dull knife.RhadamYgg wrote:That could well be.
