Dragon on Wheels wrote:What's a good place to buy reflective tape? I've tried my local Wal-Mart, but they didn't have any. Amazon has a few things listed, but most of it is not sold by 'Amazon'. Instead it's sold by a separate store that lists things on Amazon. I know at least one dealer has short strips for helmets, but I was thinking of using larger pieces on the actual bike.

Also, has anyone had experience with the sew-on reflective fabric? Does it work well? Does the 'sewing on' part damage the equipment?(ie: would it hinder waterproofing or other things? I remember reading that sewing patches onto jackets made them no longer waterproof)

Thanks!
IMHO, if you're looking to increase your visibility at night get a Helmet Halo. It puts the reflective material up high, where it's most easily noticed by other drivers.

I've ordered from this company twice with no problems: http://www.ironpony.com/ironponydirect/ ... 20PRODUCTS

Has anyone got a source for that reflective tape that is pretty much black in normal light? I want to put some reflectors on my jacket but don't really want to change the look of the leather that much.

There is only one thing you can do so cars will see ( but I didn't see the motorcyle) Is to dress you and your bike up like a deer.

The stuff you are talking about is "retroreflective" material.

Do a search for various retroreflective products. totalmotorcycle did an article on streetglo.net a while back, as a company that sells reflective tape/stickers, etc.

Thanks very much, I'm looking into getting some 3M Scotchlite material soon now!
