Stupid little thing that irritates me....

I know this is probably a stupid little thing to irritate me, but it does. My new to me 2004 V Star Custom comes with a built on helmet lock. Well they put it right where the saddle bags go rendering it pretty much useless. Is there a cruiser out there without saddle bags? Not many I would venture to guess. I hate having accessories that I can’t use because of poor design. Rant over!

Haha yeah that is pretty annoying... Didn't even know my Vol had one until I took the saddlebags off to clean 'em.

Yeah, and all the old yamaha's had helmet locks that let your helmet dangle on and touch the exhaust. Very few nice designs from the factory out there

There's relocator kits that move them to the license plate holder. There are pin locks that fit the brake handle. There is almost always an alternative...

Yeah but it's silly the way it comes from the factory. Personally if you're going aftermarket I like the bar end locks because it's easier to leave the helmet hooked up to the comm system.

Still over the exhaust? What were you thinking Yamaha!

You think that's bad! Not only does my Hypermotard not come with a helmet lock, because of the unique handguard attached mirror, you cannot hang it off the mirror or the handlebars. Also the seat is a motard style so it is too narrow to leave a helmet on it.
