Advice on crash bar foot board mount location

  • Quote

#1 Post by flw » Mon May 18, 2009 3:30 pm

I just ordered a set of foot boards for my crash bars. I don't want to mount them and then remount them again because they are way to high or low. Then leaving marks on the chrome.

So what is the general location they should be mounted? Since I can't balance the bike with my feet up, its impossible to tell. Is there a general rule.

Thanks for any guidance.

Are the boards you are referring to AKA: Highway pegs, I am confused  To get it exactly were you want it, you may need assistance...one thing you can do is put them on with protection on your bars (cloth) and keep adjusting it to what is comfortable.
I follow a new highway I haven't traveled before.

They are not pegs but are boards. Between the angle of the board and the location on the crash bar (upper, lower or in the middle), I am confused on where to start mounting them.

I don't want to remount them over and over as well as scratch the chrome badly.
