I'm curious, do you choose tires based on performance or looks? Here's pics of a GS500 like mine with the 671 tires:

err not being funny, but I put aset of kenda race tyres on my Vista scooter, best choice I made, they stick real good.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

I need a tire that will last for a while. I have had Kenda Challengers in the past and liked them. My bike wont ever be seeing any extreme cornering, or be ridden in the rain/wet. So a tire like a Kenda with a hard compound is perfect for me. Thanks for the pics, but are your handlebars bent?

Those pics are not of my GS500, just happens to be same year and color as mine. I said like mine. But I don't think those bars are bent in that rear pic of it, they are just turned some.

Bought my 02 GS used with a new K657 rear tire on it. It was about half worn after I put 5k on it and replaced both tires with Avon radials. I put a K671 rear on my old CM400A winter bike the last year I used it. Kenda calls the K657 a sport touring tire and the K671 a sport tire and I think that's right on target. The K657 is longer milage and the K671 is stickier of the two.

I used Dunlop K291/K491 touring tires on the rear of my 82 CB750K and got 25-30k miles on the rears. Put 80k miles on that bike. Best life/handling combo I think in lower priced priced tires now for my GS I think is the Avon Roadriders I'm using now. Just got 15k miles from a rear and replaced it with another. Haven't wore out the front Roadrider yet.
