An interesting fact is that spouses of diagnosed patients rarely suspect there is anything wrong, except to note that they "thought he was just depressed." Another curiosity is that rainy or cool weather seems to increase the severity of the symptoms as well as the number of diagnosed cases.
The condition demands constant monitoring lest the infection ramp up to an uncontrollable level.
Sadly, there is currently no cure available. However, it is treatable, to a degree, but the treatments are generally expensive. When there is a confirmed diagnosis the most widely used treatment so far includes the purchase of one additional motorcycle of the patient's choosing.
Another effective treatment is to increase "saddle time," as it is called. However this should be considered only of limited benefit as many sufferers complain of renewed discomfort within 24 hours.
More studies are needed. For those who suffer this affliction, please feel free to use this forum as a sounding board and support group as you see fit.
Here is a picture of my most recent treatment. I'm feeling much better now.
