I am trying to get some input on what to do with my 2002 superglide. I have a 88 ci and wonder how much more i can go with cams pistons well everything except getting into the lower. I have heard all i can do is a 95 but wasn't sure I also thought about 211 cams but is there better stuff then s&s or harley and what combination? I know i am asking a ton of stuff but if anyone has done any of this or has any help i would appreciate anything. Thanks for whatever info you have you can also email the info to motorhead699@gmail.com thanks.

Thanks again, jim

I guess I'm confused as to what you want to accomplish. If you just want to run better and possibly be more up to date. Then I would just get a new bike for tweaking a big Harley can be more expensive in the long run. The new 96 motor is stronger in the right spots and has 6 speeds to boot. It is also better for building up.

However, if you want to really build up your motor then there are all sorts of kits and pieces that you can add. I've heard there is an upper limit to how much you can bore and stroke a 88 ci motor. however, there are a lot of kits that can do so much more than expected like piston shape and head prep. The 212 cam is stiff but if your going down that route you have to think about everything from the air cleaner to changing the ratios in your primary drive. Ignition is important too. Unless you know what you are doing, you can really destroy the reliability of you bike. Also, the more you take out of the engine in the short run, the less you'll have in the long run. I tweak everything I own but even for me it's a compromise.

I guess what I'm saying is think twice before you jump in with both feet.

I know this isn't much help but like I said, you didn't say what you want to have in the end. Sorry...

It's good spelling but it Wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places. WtPooh
