It's beautiful!! But c'mon, spill some details: what year, what model, cc's, how's it handle, all that stuff.

Bit of a change from S40, huh?

Most of all, :happybikeday:

It's a 2007 Road King, 96ci engine (the S40 is a 40ci), 6-speed, heel-toe shifter, all the bells and whistles.

I guess I should start a new bike thread somewhere.

I must have test rode every bike in the dealership before trying this and a Heritage. It handles a lot better than the S40 (to me), and I don't feel the weight at all (except when trying to get out of the garage). And highways are not nearly as scary, 'cause there's no vibration. It does vibrate A LOT at idle (the Heritage didn't-that had a counterbalanced engine, and this one is rubber-mounted), but as soon, as I start moving it smooths out.

I really did try to find some non-Harley bikes to put on the list, but this one just felt like home to me. 8)

That's all that matters! Congrats again, and does this mean you might be going west in August??

Quite possibly-I'm still working out vacation after having to take days off for funerals. And it will largely depend on how confident I feel after getting in some parking lot practice. Parking is now a whole new set of skills.

I do need a break though.

Was out of town for the annual Concours owner's rally and just saw this....

Congrats SCGurl, if it's the right bike, it's the right bike and that's all there is to it. My Harley was the right bike for years, I miss it but my riding style changed and it just didn't do what I needed anymore.

At least Harley understands that they need to allow test rides...I wish more of the Japanese dealerships could afford the insurance to allow test rides.

Anyway, if you're able to make the conference we can talk about the possibility of riding out together, I've ridden to CO before. I'm just about 3 hours from you now.

During the annual Concours Owner's Group (COG) National rally, I had ample opportunity to speak with Kawasaki representative Sue Slate (one heck of a gal and a veteran rider). She said Kawasaki is not doing demo rides at the AMA conference. Suzuki didn't do demos at the last conference so chances are they won't this time, either. And if Honda cancelled the Honda Hoot, my guess is they won't have demo bikes either.

Oh well, riding a Buell is always fun.... :?

But Sue talked about some of the programs that will be offered at the conference, and it really is sounding like a full program of offerings for all kinds of riders in all stages of riding. She was very interested in my (and some of the other women's) disatisfaction with the bad camping and I just have a hopeful feeling that the new administration at the AMA is going to hear about it for the next time!

So I dropped through Keystone when I was in Breckenridge for a family reunion. Keystone is only about 3 hours away from me, and I can easily make it there and back on a tank of gas, so I'll definitely be seeing some of you gals. (If you're not too terrified of me lol)
But yeah, if you need minor to medium repair work done there I'm more than willing for the cost of parts alone. :)
