Harley test ride - what bike?

hey all,

i got a little thing in the mail that's good for a harley test ride and a free ipod. i'm not in the market for a bike right now (just got the fz6) but i figure it could be fun. just talked to the sales guy and he said that the bikes available for a test ride are the bikes they have for rent. here's the list.

- Buell Blast (road that in the riders edge course... not interested :)
- Sportster 1200 Nightster (could be interested)
- Softail Cross Bones
- Softail Deluxe
- Softail Custom
- Dyna Low Rider
- Road King
- Road King Classic
- Electra Glide Classic
- Ultra Classic Electra Glide
- Street Glide
- Heritage Softail Classic
- Fat Boy
- Road Glide
- Night Rod Special

out of all of those, i'm most intested in checking out the night rod. i am worried about the reach of the forward controls. i have a pretty short inseam. the only other one that seemed to catch my attention was the dyna low rider.

i only get one free test ride. so out of these bikes, what would you ride if you could only ride one?

I'd like to give the Night Rod a try... Heard some good and bad things about the V Rod line, but never rode one...

Duuuude. I just reserved a night rod special for rental two weekends from now. I cannot wait. I sat on the night rod skeptical about the reach of the forwards...it actually felt really comfortable. I'll let you know how comfortable it is after 12 hours of riding on it though.

Soooo excited. Hopefully it won't turn into an impulse buy.

Definitely looks like a sweet bike. Even the regular V-Rods are cool - and I've actually seen 1 or 2 on the roads here.

IMHO the Night Rod and Rocker C are the sexiest bikes HD makes. So obviously the Night Rod gets my vote!
On second thought, the Screamin Eagle Electra Glide comes in a close third. I love that orange/black paint job and the smoooooth lines on it.

For a test ride, I would probably also pick the Night Rod. It's a bit different from the regular cruiser and might be interesting. For some reason though, I would also like to check out the Heritage softail classic too. That would probably be my second choice.

I got one of those in the mail as well and I'm going to pop down this week and ride a Sportster 833. Not because I'm considering one but I have a buddy coming home from Afghanistan who wants to take up riding, and I'm going to be his adviser. So I want to be familiar with the 833 to see if it would be something I would recommend to him.

My neighbor and riding buddy has a V Rod in brushed steel. It's my favorite Harley. Very hot. I'm not sure he could stay with my BMW F800ST in the twisties, but could eat me up in the straights.

You know, there is no way I'm in the market for a bike, but I'd love to take a V-Rod for a ride.

Of course, I'm always pulled in two different directions and I'd love (just as much) to take a Honda CBR600RR for a test ride.
