Hello all,

What is considered high, medium and low mileage/kms for a 1984 BMW R65?

Thanks!

Lots of deciding factors going into that. Area of the country, size of the city, what the rider was like... etc.
E.G. down in Phoenix high mileage for an 84 Beemer would be easily 100K ore more, while low may still be as high as 30 or 40K.
Up here in Colorado, high mileage would be closer to 60K, maybe 70K while you can easily find older bikes with under 10K on them.

In general I'd say high mileage would be around 80K, medium would be close to 45K, and low would be anything under 20K.
Slim, you're much better to say mileages on beemers than I am, what's your take?

I've never seen one (R65) with over 50K. (don't know why) The R65 is kinda a rare bird, (only like Beemer was the R45 and that was Euro only) might look the same but is completely different from the other 70 up Airheads. I have seen several Airheads with up wards of 200K and even a few K bikes with over 500K. My guess for average mileage on an 84 BMW would be about 80-100K. (but this is for a /7 not the R65) However the only bad thing I ever heard about the R65 is the fact that most parts will not interchange with other Airheads

Well. Hubby has a 1978 R100GS that shows 48K miles... (It only has 5 digits on the odometer, plus 1/10s). Still runs strong.

100K should be no problem. Airheads are quite sturdy.
