Does anyone know if they are going to make any changes in the 2010 emissions controls or any other govermental bureaucracy changes to motorcycles. I'm also wondering if the same thing for Japanese or European controls as well.

I'm thinking of making a purchase and would like to know if I should buy it now or wait till next fall. There are some really good buys on 2008 and 2009 motorcycles but I'd kind of like to know if I should wait to see if there are going to be any great changes that I'd feel terrible if I missed. Sorry if it sounds dumb but I've gotten conflicting reports. :?

Good question, the House just passed some humongous bill on Global Warming yesterday. Sounds like most of those people didn't even get a chance to read on what they were voting on. All I know is I am thinking of getting a dual sport next year because I miss going in the dirt. Might have to put that on hold now...

generally, the next few years will see tighter regulation on emissions.
I think between 08 and 10, you wont see a significant difference.
Go for what you can afford in the time being.

Due to all the bikes running straight pipes, we'll likely see more sound regulations for bikes over the next few years.....which leads to more aftermarket pipe sales (my new Superduke sounds like a water-pump stock), which will lead to more p!ssed off citizens, which will lead to tighter sounds restrictions for motorcycles.........and then the cycle starts again....

:thankyousign:

Thank guys.

It was a big help. There shouldn't be any changes for next year(2010). Don't know how it will spread out 2011 and beyond. Kind of s*cks. But I guess it will happen whether I say yah or ney.

I making some Texas Deals right now, so I really don't know what I can afford or what I'll end up with.
