yeah, i don't think that came across exactly as he meant.
and the days of $10 suits are long gone, but as long as you know which shops aren't putting turds in nice wrapping paper it's very possible to get high quality goods very cheaply. most anything you buy that has a "Made in Korea" tag in it can be bought over there for less than half what you'd pay in the states--officially licensed jerseys, designer clothing, shoes, suits, purses, etc. some stores sell the real thing, but many others sold knock-offs that fell apart shortly after leaving the store.
i've still got two of the leather jackets i bought over there, one of them has a rip right above the pocket from a night of heavy drinking and possibly either a fight or a female grabbing my jacket. the other is just too heavy of a coat to wear in tucson.
and actually, now that i think about it, i remember seeing a few pieces of motorcycle gear in several of the shops. jackets, pants, full suits, etc. i never checked the prices on them and still am not familiar enough with current prices to know whether they would have been a good deal or not, but they were there.
