I would rather see someone wear a helf helmet than nothing, which is what I see quite a bit when I ride. Yes Harley riders I'm talking about you. I have been considering getting a half helmet myself, haven't really decided yet. I keep picturing that 3-D image of the guy with his jaw split in half. Not cool.

full face, or no face. If you REALLY want the feel of a half helmet, to get that wind in your face feeling, but the protection of a full face, get an offroad helmet and some good goggles. First hand experiance tells me they're more than adequet for stopping your face from tearing off on the ground.

Try this place, best shorties made.

www.carbonfiberhelmets.com

They make the helmets as ordered and will give a full refund if unhappy.

Yeah, unfortunately I have to urge you against an open face. It would give you a sense of security and you may be right; in an accident, you are more likely to survive with the 3/4 helmet. However, I said survive, not alright. People wearing open face helmet's that get in an accident will, depending on the speed, likely get the chance to say goodbye to their jaw. I've been looking around the internet on what gear to get and this was one of the first things I saw. The pictures of people without jaws are more than enough for me to get a full face. Hopefully everyone's suggestions in a full face will help you in protecting your wife's face and not just her head.

LOL.

I ride a harley and wear full face all the time. Sports bike riders are just as bad. I wear a full helmet, shorts, tshirt and a pair of sandals because it's hot out (typical sport bike rider).

Wear what you want, it's your skin. I prefer to keep mine.

Just telling you what I see. 90% of Harley riders don't wear full face helmets. Apparently they don't look "cool". I see some sport bike riders without helmets bit it's probably 50/50.

The instructors in my safety course this was the last thing they spoke with us about before we left.
Do you care more about your image then your life? That being said its a free country and it is your choice on how much risk you are willing to take.
Reminds me of my dad just coming off of the causeway from Cocoa to Cocoa Beach no helmet but his sunglasses fogged up so he lifted them as he made his turn. There was a cop in a speed trap pulled him over for not wearing eye protection. I couldn't believe you don't have to wear a helmet but not wearing eye protection is an offence. Doesn't make any sense :frusty: to me anyway.

No man, explain to her that a full face will

Stop bugs or small debris from hitting her chin

that you need adequate UV protection for all of her face

and you need a full face for installing the communication system, when you get one.

Works every time.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R
