I would never use a helmet that screwed around or lifted on my head at any speed, thats just plain dangerous !!!!

If a helmet does this then id strongly point toward poor fit and poor choice of helmet as the culprit.

When I pick a helmet in a shop i slid it on then grab the chin guard and try and reef it around on my head, if it has plenty of movement in the shop then you can guarantee that bad boy will slip and slide all over the place at highway and beyond speeds.

+1

If any helmet is going to want to lift up at highway speeds, it is a MX style helmet with the big long protruding sun visor.

I have worn my Arai XD with the big MX visor at highway speeds and I experience no lift whatsoever.

I have also found that the bike makes a difference.

When riding my FJ-1200, my helmet will start to lift at 80. At 120 it is pulling up uncomfortably hard. Crouching behind the windshield trying to tuck in makes it worse.

Same helmet worn while riding the GSX-R doesn't ever lift as badly at any speed, and not at all until 130+.... tucked in or not.

The air pocket and wind lift created by the FJ just seems to want to suck my lid off at speeds......
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

Same and I've been to about 100 on my bike. Yay for $85 dollar full face helmets. Seriously find one that fits snug.

Wrider - you need to start your own blog - you keep throwing in these gems at unexpected moments :) A collection might be REALLY helpful...
still recovering - back to crutches, then walking with a stick, then running - then hopefully riding again!

I was coming onto an on ramp here in VA when my windscreen somehow came loose and ripped off my helmet.................bad day but I'd have to agree and say find a better helmet.
