250cc Cruisers?
I'm planning on taking my full motorcycle test in a few months, which will entitle me to ride bikes up to 250cc (or so I've been told... Could someone confirm this first? I'm in the UK, if it makes a difference). I really want a cruiser when I upgrade, but to this day I've never seen a 250cc cruiser in a bike shop.
Firstly, are there any in existence? If so (which I'm presuming there is), what would you recommend?

Re: 250cc Cruisers?
Yep, there are a couple I know of.
Honda Rebel - CMX250
Suzuki - GV250
Both of them are really good. The Rebel seems to be more popular here in the States, but not sure why. I have parking lot experience on the rebel and none with the Suzuki, so I can't really chime in with differences here.

I think it's because it has a clever name and not a bunch of numbers and letters that don't mean anything to the average newbie.Wrider wrote:The Rebel seems to be more popular here in the States, but not sure why.
Also that parallel twin is a better motor than most mini v-twins.

Re: 250cc Cruisers?
Hyosung has a 250 cc cruiser Not sure of its availablility in the UK though.
Here it is. Of the 250 cruisers available in Canada this is the one I'd buy based on looks alone. I never could find any in the shops either.

Old US favorites like the Honda Rebel, Suzuki GZ250, and Yamaha Virago 250 don't seem to be currently listed on their UK sites but the Hyosung GV250 EFI is:

That Hyosung looks nice... And it's got some pretty nice specs, too. Worth a look, cheers
Still, no Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha? That's a let down :/

Re: 250cc Cruisers?
I started out on the Hyosung and my wife now rides it. It is a good bike and good looking. If you get one be prepared to hear two things. “That’s a 250????” and, “What’s a Hyosung?”

Re: 250cc Cruisers?
i've seen a few hyo's in person, they look GREAT - couldn't believe they were 250's. If I hadn't already been in love with the volusia i saw online and was trying to see in person, i might have jumped at the hyo's.
btw, almost a year later of riding (through the winter too), STILL love the suz volusia (now called th4e boulevard)

still recovering - back to crutches, then walking with a stick, then running - then hopefully riding again!

Wow, there really aren't many, are there? Manufacturers should invest in making a few more.
