Riding motorcycles can keep you young
Re: Riding motorcycles can keep you young
I also agree. I remember hearing 3 things can improve brain power... cognitive ability
learning to play a musical instrument, learning to speak a foreign language ,and puzzles..
Learning to ride a bike is much the puzzle and I got to be thinking about what's going on and I'm 57 ...my dad would tell me " Son , you're a smart feller."

My kids are 57 and 56 years old and I'm still riding about 10k miles per year, if I wasn't riding I'd be siting here at this puter 24/7.

I've seen 80 yr old guys doing motocross or track days.

One thing you can count on: You push a man too far, and sooner or later he'll start pushing back.

It's hard to imagine an 80 year old guy doing motocross, though I guess if they take it easy. I hope I'm in shape for that when I reach 80.

That's totally insane. First of all, you can't take it easy in MX. And at that age, failure is not an option as a crash would almost certainly result in death or near death injury at that age.
I see guys that look to be in their 60s occasionally on the trails but never doing MX.

That was like a shocker when the guy took off his helmet and his face was all old and wrinkly and full of liver spots. He was almost 80 when I saw him and I just smiled, nodded and walked away. Getting schooled by an old guy (in terms of having balls) would not be good for me...

The way you age is up to you. But it makes sense to me that people whom motorcycle are active and very social. Both help you age with decently. It would be interesting to see an study that analyzes the motorcyclist profile as they grow older.
