I've recently received my motorcycle license, and have been looking at either the honda rebel 250 or yamaha v-star 250. But I came across this bike over the internet and wondered if anyone has any idea as to what this bike is.

This is a Velocette Venom Thruxton. The fishtail muffler is a dead giveaway for a Velocette. The scooped front drum is also a tell tale sign.

True it did become a popular aftermarket accessory for other British bikes of the time. That being said, the fishtail muffler has always been associated with the Velocettes as they are the ones that came with it stock.

Regardless, the bike posted by the OP is a Velocette.
