What do you think, should I take the deal ?
What's the net difference between the trade and the RR?

Hokay, a quick update,

After running the 6 in nicely, The Goose has now had 2 long trips, one of 500 kms round trip and another of 600kms.
There is a big difference in how she rides the bike. The 600 is a lot lighter and more responsive to braking (c-abs) than the VFR. The VFR at over 200 kg is great at long distance and is very stable at high speed, but heavy at slow speed.
The 600 weighs in at a lot lighter and this shows on the slow speed stuff. I now see her keeping her foot on the rear brake and feet on the pegs for slow speed turns or those stop and go stop streets, where on the Viffer it was always feet down.

At 120-140 there is just enough air coming over the screen to keep your body up and take the strain of the wrists.

High speed cornering has improved hugely and she dominates the bike so much more then the heavier VFR.

I took the bike out after the 1st service, hooked into the power band and was hitting 220 in 4th before I ran out of straight line road, this thing is a powerful machine stuck into a very small package. Have to say I am very impressed with the electronic steering damper and the brakes, SHO, those brakes are amazing, no rear wheel judder and no feeling of wash from the front. These should be on all bikes bar full race spec. Handling is really good and we can see that by the way she rides with a lot more confidence.

Wait a second... hold the boat. What's wrong with a WRX ?? Besides the fact that you have to drive it like you stole it if you want to stay in the powerband. Some of us are entertained by our daily drivers, makes life a little more fun :)

Also if she's not a 25 year old boy the insurance shouldn't be that bad.... Don't know what crazy actuary tables you have in Canada but here in VA I pay $500 for the year and I'm under 30.

She must have a lot of tickets on her license  Cool, she's a speed freak :)

Basic insurance on that car for me would be close to $1500 not including collision or comp. No, I don't have any tickets on my record and that's just the price we pay...

Ouch :o To be clear we're taking about the Impreza WRX not the STi which is really a different animal...

How much would a plain Impreza cost to insure or are all the rates proportionally higher ?

Sorry to jack this thread Sapaul. Feel free to tell me to bugger off and we'll get back talkin about the awesome CBR 600RR.
