Please help me choose Vulcan 750 or Suzuki S50
Please help me choose Vulcan 750 or Suzuki S50
I like both bikes. Similar with shaft drive,Vulcan has a lot of gages and a center stand plus tubless tires.. If you guys had to choose(having NOT ridden neither which would you choose? Maybe someone out there has ridden both???If you choose one over the other please tell me why.

Not having ridden either, I'll have to go on looks alone (all the specs are darn near the same) - in which case I have to cast my vote for the S50. The Vulcan's engine looks like a Frankenstein piece-together of different parts from other bikes, and the seat is too retro for me. I do prefer the mag wheels versus the Suzuki's spoke, but the Suzuki is 40lbs lighter.
The Kawasaki Vulcan 750 is a relic of a by-gone era...and with the Vulcan 800 in the same stable (and for less money) you can't help but wonder why Kawasaki has two bikes covering the same weight category.

well this is the first bike that i have owned, so my opinion is only againt the other bikes that i have riden..
performance: in the 800 class i dont think that anything will touch it. like i said it eats my buddys 883 alive,, and he has the full screamin eagle 2 package on his bike .. anoither friend of mine has an 86 750 virago and he is almost scared of the bike.
handeling: this bike is very light 443 lbs i think with out looking it up, so throwing it into a corner is very easy also those emergency swerve are a peice of cake.. slow speed is great i can do figure 8 all day long in my driveway approx 15 feetx15feet square.
economy: i am still in the break in period, less than 1000 miles but it gets fairly good gas milage approx 55+ or- a few per gallon as long as you are not hammering on it.. cruizing speed is about 45-50 mph in 5th gear. that seems like the speed in 5th were you are not over reving but still putting the power down.. a little twist and you will be doing 75-80 in a blink..
dislikes...like i said not much aftermarket right now that i like..exhuast is very quit,, could use forward controls on long trips but for a 50-60 mile ride pretty comfy.. drag bars could come back an inch or so farther again not so much on short rides but on a long trip i get some shoulder strain..
