I'm with you on the CBX. I think that's a really cool bike.
I've also gotta throw in the Katana 1100. One of the ultimate sport touring rigs in it's day.

You're talking about the original one that was modeled after a real katana, right? Before they started ruining a sacred name by putting it on bikes so ugly, it became a joke (kan of tuna). :(

The original Katana: :kicking:

If I find a nice unmolested clean one, I might just go for it.

I also love the Yamaha FZR 600 from the early to mid 90s, the GPz 750 Turbo, my bike in stock trim with its original paint (apparently there are fewer GPz900R around). Still want my '89 GSXR!

Honda made the CB1300 as a throwback to those older designs with updated engine and brakes. shame it's only available in Japan. And I read the shootout between the old Katana and GPZ900R in Visor Down and the headlight on the Suzuki does sound intriguing and the design is reminiscent of dystopia 1980s vision. Paint it black and you have those futuristic cop bikes. Shame it's more of a straightliner than a carver.
One thing you can count on: You push a man too far, and sooner or later he'll start pushing back.

O.K., I'll give you the 500, but you can actually buy them sometimes on ebay. A 650 in good shape is a lot more difficult to find...

Both are cool bikes. And actually having one that is still fully functional in a few years will be a feat in itself.
