HYPERR - "The bike I miss the most from the past is my 1995 BMW K75"
I don't see that on your list... was it your first one?
No the list are the bike I currently own. If I posted every bike I ever owned my sig would take up the whole page so I will save you that burden on your website.
No the K75 was not my first bike. My first bike was a 2-smoke 200cc Yamaha.
Would be a close call between
1) My old '93 Vmax (now sold, and still upsets me she's gone) as I had wanted the 'Max since I was 12 years old, and it was every bit as good as I had hoped!
and
2) My current bike - a 1993 850 TDM as it's the most comfortable and versatile bike I've ever ridden. Great for the weekday commute and an absolute blast on the weekend, too!
That all being said theres my FZ750 (first "big" bike) or the Suzuki GT185(first proper bike when I was about 12) or the GN250 i had when I was in NZ or the XJR1200 i did my longest ride on or the..... dammnit this really is impossible!
Don't give up.
Not now, not soon, not after being continually knocked down.
We had a demo model TDM850 (1992 I think - they only brought them into Canada for a year or two), and i rode it a few times. GREAT motor characteristic but boring sound effects (270-degree crank I think). Handled pretty well, but didnt care for the looks except in BLACK it was OK. The handlebar had a wierd pullback that sucked. It really needed a nice standard or MX bar like a Buell.
Nowadays you can likely get dual-sport tires for that thing too... back then it was just a weird looking street/sport/touring thing.
What I really wanted was Yamaha to import the TRX850 with it's steel trellis frame (like a Segal or Ducati) and it had the 180-degree crank so it sounded like a 90-degee V-twin L-twin (ala Ducati). It was apparently only for Europe - I think made in Italy (like another cool bike, the SZR660) and it never lasted.
and then VMAX yes, never had one of those either but did ride them on occassion -- -hee hee --- that monster pile tire burning torque torque torque everywhere to 10000 RPM -- lurid --- with the Dunlop K591 taking what she could for 2000km before dying an honourable death. 2nd gear launches were the ticket, which also saved 2nd gear from the abuse of the shift-and-wham-of-that-beastly-tank-of-an-engine. Such a true COOL unique bike the ol' Max... a V65 Sabre couldnt touch it for cool... I liked the looks of the V65 Magna though (out of the Hondas), but the V-Max was IT. The new one is pretty cool too. But nothing compares with the original.
You mentioned the FZ750, while I still liked the two-strokes mainly back then, like a RG500 Gamma or RZ500 (bit too chubby that RZ), but I really liked the FZX750 Fazer... it was like a mini-max for styling and the 5-valve FZ motor was wicked -- OH -- also the XJ750X Maxim-X - same motor (maybe different cams) --- killer for a cruiser instead of a Vmax Bruiser.

For Sale: Ninja 600 with parts bike, needs minor work, $30, no title... (GEE THAT DOESNT RING ANY WARNING BELLS DOES IT?)
HOLY CRAP! A post from Keyoke!!! haha
I do like the TDM... I've only ever seen two in person. One was the boss' and the other was a guy who had over 60K on his and was touring through Colorado.
Have owned - 2001 Suzuki Volusia
Current bike - 2005 Kawasaki Z750S
MMI Graduation date January 9th, 2009. Factory Certifications in Suzuki and Yamaha
I have really enjoyed reading all of these posts. To tell youth truth I did not realize there were so many special bikes out there! I find myself googling all of your bikes just see what they look like. Too bad we couldn't get all of these bikes in one place and take them for test ride! That would be like a kid in a candy store! What a great forum! Thanks for sharing!

Life may begin at 30 but it gets real interesting at 140!
After all, its the ONLY bike I have ever owned and its in the garage awaiting the great thaw.
I have been riding less than a year gang, so maybe in a few years I can actually offer insight... For now, I mostly listen...
