Somthing VERY cool about this forms members

#1 Unread post by agraebner »

This is something I have been thinking about since I had to find a place to mount and balance the tires on my Nighthawk. The people on this site appreciate the broad spectrum of both RIDERS and RIDES. The different places I have ridden or motorcycle shops I have been to ( basically anything that has put me in contact with other riders) there is a lot of bias towards their own type. For example Suzuki dealership I had the tires mounted at was all about a busa, nothing else was a REAL bike and the rest of us were not REAL riders. I have encountered a lot of this type of attitude even out riding. It is a real pleasure to see this forum with its open minded people. In my time here I have seen people recommend bikes for people that suited there purpose rather than a bias. I have really come to appreciate the need for every type of bike, because somewhere there is a person that fits it perfectly. I am glad for the diversity brought to this site. The rest of the world would do well by the same reasoning.... This site is BRAIN FOOD!!!
1984 Honda Magna 700, 1987 CBR1000F, 1991 Nighthawk 750, 1994 FZR600, and for the dirt 1995 KTM 300 EXC and finally a 1986 KX500

I couldn't have said it better myself and it's one of the reasons I started Total Motorcycle in the first place over a decade ago. I wanted to create a site that was friendly, helpful, useful and unbaised so that no matter how you ride, where your ride or what you ride you would be welcomed. :D

Ya, I know, it sounds too ideal for today's world, but hey, WE ALL did it!

I totally agree with the above sentiment.

Other sites that I have visited have more than their fair share of bias + sexism + racism. A little verbal knockabout can be fun, but there is a good sense of neighbourliness & support expressed here too.

I think the Canadian influence is probably very significant. :canada:

Well done everyone! Thank you for making me welcome

(BTW I'll always be a bit biased toward Brit bikes :uk: )
