my FZ6 gets between 54 to 58 mpg and my scooter gets between 42 to 44 mpg
come on! say it!
lets hear your rude comments such as "why did you buy a scooter for?" or "my harley gets better gas mileage than your scooter"

yea! but you can't haul 3 bags of lawn fertilizer, or a case of soda and 7 bags from a grocery store home with your harley! you can't hold and drink a cup of coffee while riding your har har harley, you can't ride thru a rain storm and keep ur whole body dry riding a HD, I will smoke you on any hair pin curve with my scooter plus I will out accelerate you from a dead stop on my scooter, when you fools clutch and shift gears you slow down your acceleration at the same time I am still accelerating on my scooter, oh oh the shame and embarressment of being smoked by a scooter.
the more you guys cut down and make fun of my scooter the more and more I LOVE it!

come on! bring it on! lets hear some cut downs!

you know I have to admit at first I did regret buying a scooter, after owing it for about a month I was going to sell it, but something unexpected happened, everybody made fun of it, everybody made fun of me and insulted me for buying and riding one and when considering the source, the losers that couldn't ride or handle their big cruiser bike made me fall in love with my scooter more and more, it made me discover I am not the same loser as they are and I didn't want to be like them.

UPDATE: I am finished inputting over 5,000 bikes* of data PLUS the ones above. For some interesting facts...

Generally, BMW's and Royal Enfields did very well.

The Guide will start at 1949! (Yes, I have 40's, 50's and 60's bike data!). Due to soooo many bikes now (5000), it will be in year format rather than manufacturer format or the pages would be way tooooo long.

The guide will have every bike in US MPG and L/100km.

The worst bike was a URAL Retro at 24.5 MPG. The Best (non-scooter) was a Hyosung GV250 Aquila (manufacturer reported) of 113 MPG. All units US MPG.

Target date for the Guides release: NEXT WEEK (25th) maybe I will be able to get it out sooner...

Please keep the Motorcycle MPG data coming, I will keep adding it to the guide!

Mike

Man Some of you guys are getting some awesome mpg's. My Harley Vrod typically gets around 40- 42 ish. I just cruise that one. Okay now for my Vmax, well let's just say it will pass everything but a gas station!
Life may begin at 30 but it gets real interesting at 140!

Mark, you are actually higher than what the average I'm finding for the V-Rod is, the TMW guide has 38 MPG average for it.

UPDATE: I've now added more publication data for models from the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's.

The guide will now start at 1934 and now features 5,117 bikes as of this morning. How is that for the biggest motorcycle MPG Guide ever? :D

Catagories to be are:

YEARS (1934 - 2012)
Top Bikes under 500cc
Top Bikes over 500cc
Top Scooters

38 sounds about right with average driving. I cruise down these back country roads about 45 mph...so I thinks that's why I get about 42 mpg. I think if I were to get some pipes and intake I could do better. Maybe?

Unless you ride at speeds of less than 40kmh, I find your figures to be very suspect. Especially with a v-twin of that displacement.
