Sprockets

#1 Unread post by VerticalSmoke »

I was wondering would a 11 tooth front sprocket with a 54 tooth rear sprocket work.?
i know my top end will reduce but i need as much acceleration as possible... for a stunt bike :starwars:

Already stunting out a 2011??? That's a shame!

As for will it work? Rear will, it'll look like a freaking Thanksgiving Turkey plate on there, but it will. Front probably won't though. Stock is a 16 tooth, if you go down to an 11 it'll probably be too tight of a curve and cause the chain to bind up. A friend had a stunted CBR 600 F4 (not i) that had a 13 tooth and even it was binding a bit, so an 11 is almost guaranteed to do that.

Honestly if it were up to me I'd go with a 14 front and a 50 rear. Stock is a 42, and you can easily feel the difference between 1 down and 2 up, so 2 down and 8 up is going to make a very noticeable difference. For what it's worth you will not be able to use the stock chain either, you'll have to use a much longer one to get around the rear sprocket.
