1999 hayabusa

#1 Unread post by archer1 »

looked at 1999 hayabusa today in mint condition wants 4800... has 38000 kms on it
is it too much bike for a 50 year old
have rode for 15 years (cb900f super sport)but have been out for awhile not a wheelie addict or stunter just like the look and fit
I realize speed kills and that the bike needs respect but the bike is beautiful, any suggestions gotta make a decision soon

Hi Les,

Welcome to the TMW forums!

I don't know about going rates for bikes. 38,000 kms is not considered high in other parts of the world (especially in the UK where I am) but in Canada that is considered quite high. If the bike is in good shape and maintained well though I would NOT let this put you off. Just keep in mind that future sales might be difficult.

You're right, if you respect the power of the bike you should be okay. If you've been out of the sport for a while you should consider a renewal course to get you back up to speed. If nothing else, when you do get a bike hit the parking lot first to practice your slow maneouvers and get your full confidence back.
