im looking to add blue leds also to my engine area, i see the kits but they cost way to much for a simple array of leds on a wire so im waiting untill i have time to venture into making my own.

i was told blue lights like that would be legal here(arizona). i have blue tire lights and they havent gotten me in trouble yet.

lights on bike

#4 Unread post by niterider »

I got some lights that go on the valve stem that lite off of a small bat and only lite when the bike is in motion. I bought them at Wal-Mart. I am in the proccess of hooking up some on my liscence plate that will flicker red and amber. when the brake is applied. I have had no problem with the stem lights, and hope to be okay with the plate lights. I do DOT inspections on 18 wheeler, it would be a heck of a deal if I get ticketed for lights on my bike.

flickering red lights might get you busted, to similar to a resuce vehicle. i knew someone that had blue lights on the their wind shield washer nozzles got busted for them cause they were on the Front of the car. supposedly was to close to a police cars lights.

lites on bike

#6 Unread post by niterider »

This lites were sold for 18 wheel or bike decoration for the rear plate, I hope that since they will be on the rear I can get away with them. They are very small and are the posts that will hold the plate on. Only time will tell.

I'm really curious as to how they look at speed.

bike lites

#8 Unread post by niterider »

I run a lot of nite miles so I thought the more lites the more I will be noticed by other motorists.

I've got yellow valve stem lights on my rocket. Here in PA pretty much everything but the lights that come stock are illegal, but they won't give you beef unless you've got something insanely flashy and bright. I havn't had a problem with my valve stem lights. I need to get some that only turn on when the bike is moving though, the ones I have are twist on and off, I'm always forgetting to turn them off.

string of lites

#10 Unread post by niterider »

ron b. I work at a place that has a chrome shop for trucks, and I remember seeing a driver with a string of lites. If I remember I will see if we have such a thing for sale. Also you might ask at your closest truckers chrome shop for something like that. It may be something that you could use on your bike.
