2012 #Calgary motorcycle show - Two #Wheels Move the Soul


The 2012 Calgary Motorcycle Show begins at noon on Friday January 6th, 2012, and runs through until 5:00 Sunday, January 8th, 2012, at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park.

This is your only opportunity of the year to check out the new 2012 models all under one roof. Shop and compare the latest motorcycles, ATV’s and scooters from Aprilia, BMW, BRP,Can-Am Cleveland CycleWerks, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, , Kawasaki, KTM, MV Agusta, Norton, Polaris, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory, Yamaha and Zero. Some of the best prices of the season will be offered on gear as well as aftermarket accessories.

Many of us remember our “first bike”, for motorcycle enthusiasts and collector their first bike was the beginning of their passion for motorbikes that has lasted a lifetime. Members of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group will be displaying their first bike, many of which have been lovingly restored to their original glory. This display spans numerous decades and showcases a wide variety of manufacturers. If you are one of the many who are truly passionate about collecting and restoring vintage motorcycles, then you are sure to enjoy talking with the owners of these works of art.

Once again this year, Friday night is all about the female rider, whether you are looking into taking up the sport, you are new to the sport or you are an experience rider, this is your night. Friday, January 6th from 5:00 – 9:00 is SHE Rides Nite. All ladies entering the show between 5:00–9:00 receive half price admission. The evening will be filled with informational sessions and seminars. Manufacturers will have experienced staff available to provide their expertise as it relates specifically to the female rider. Many exhibitors will be offering “ladies only” specials on gear, accessories and courses. To wrap up the evening, five lucky women in attendance at the Show will have an opportunity to win the grand prize of a Suzuki S40 valued at over $6700, courtesy of Walt Healy Motorsports and Suzuki Canada.

Clayton Bellamy of the Road Hammers will be at the Show in the Blackfoot Triumph booth to meet and greet fans in support of his new hit single” Everyone’s a Dreamer.” Be sure to take in one of his acoustic performances, check the on-site schedule for show times.

The Yamaha Kids Riding Academy provides families with the perfect opportunity to introduce the sport of off-road motorcycling to the younger members of their families. Children ages 6-12, who are proficient at riding a two wheel bike, are encouraged to sign up early to ensure a spot in one of the many sessions that will run throughout the weekend. Under the watchful eye of experienced teachers, participants will receive basic instruction, then gear up and take to the supervised track on a new Yamaha TT-R off-road motorcycle. The emphasis of this program is on safety, proper riding equipment, braking, balance and throttle control.

If you wanted to be wowed, be sure to make time to check out the Evolution of Extreme show which runs throughout the weekend in the Corral. No strangers to competing and performing, the members of the FMX team include Reagan Sieg, Jeff Fehr and Keith Sayers, along with Team Empire stunt riders Nick “Apex” Brocha and Ernie “Edub” Vigil. They will perform amazing ramp to ramp aerial acrobatic stunts that will leave audiences oohing and aahing. If that wasn’t enough, we have added ATV stunt rider Cody Elkins and Snowmobile freestyler Ted Culbertson to the mix. These daredevils will perform stunts that are sure to take your breath away. Jumping ramp to ramp on two wheels, four wheels and now on a sled, adds a whole new dimension to this popular feature to a. “Including snowmobiler Ted Culbertson on the team, takes the wow factor of the Evolution of Extreme show to a whole new level” says Laurie Paetz, Show Manager, “this feature is a definite must see.”

There are hundreds of booths dedicated to all things motorcycling, ATVing and scootering, including: clubs, associations, retailers, charity rides and much more.
