Re: So, nobody's posted here since November?
Meaning "milk tart" in Afrikaans, melktert is a South African dessert. It is a sweet pastry crust containing a creamy filling made from milk, flour, sugar and eggs. The ratio of milk to egg is higher than in a traditional European custard tart or Chinese egg tart, resulting in a lighter texture and a stronger milk flavour. Some recipes require the custard to be baked in the crust, and others call for the custard to be prepared in advance, and then placed in the crust before serving. Cinnamon is often sprinkled over its surface.
Melkterts are described as a dessert that shows distinctive Dutch traits.
These would be great for a pie fight.

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

If I had said, be adventurous woman, I would be kicked out of the Ladies lounge for being a sexist

Re: We need more action in the Ladies Lounge
+1 on this being a mild winter. I've been able to take a ride about town on the weekends. I even got to take hubby's 650 out for spin today. It looked so lonely sitting in the garage all by itself on such a nice sunny day.Lion_Lady wrote:Did everyone go into Hibernation? It has been so mild here in Maryland, we're sort of calling it the winter that wasn't. I think it was 60 degrees on January 1.

Re: We need more action in the Ladies Lounge
I was just reading through this thread again and can't help but notice that the action we called for in the Ladies Lounge has actually come from the men! But how can we kick them out when they are baking us pies and keeping us entertained?

As long as they are being useful we should let them stay. We will need to supervise them very closely tho..............
