Heading to bed now. Slept from 10 AM to 2 PM yesterday, got up and went to the dentist, then the local bike shop, then rode around for a little. Worked from 7 PM to 730 AM, and have to be up again at 1:30 this afternoon so I can work on my friend's bike. Fortunately she's a looker, and will be hanging around to help/learn, so I have incentive!

We are away on a short break but due to the wonders of electronic mail have received really sad news. A young friend took his own life yesterday & the Royal Marine Commando son of a good mate died in Afghanistan. What a shame.

It's a sad bad world sometimes.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your friends. It seems that sometimes, it's never good news.

Was sitting at a red light at Boundary and Kingsway heading home when I got a tap on the shoulder....standing next to me was a female RCMP constable who informed me half my license plate tag was missing. She asked if I had insurance, I said yup and offered to show it to her but she let me go, nice of of her eh? Got home and checked out the tag, looks like some used an exacto knife to cut and peel off half of it.
Always ask why.

license plate tag = sticker on the license plate?

New Jersey did away with those a few years ago for both cars and motorcycles. Also did away with state inspection for motorcycles, so no inspection stickers now. Police have no way to know at sight whether your paperwork is current.

A real rollercoaster of a day.

After a pleasant relaxing last day of our holiday we sailed (actually Wightlink Ferry) back to the mainland. I had booked the ferry for 1830hrs so we could have a full last day. The crossing coincided with a beautiful sunset so I shot loads of pics & hopefully have a few good ones.

We went to our local pub after unpacking the car & met up with a few friends. Amongst the company the father of the late Royal Marine Commando turned up + the best friend of the young guy who took his own life.

Wow, talk about back to reality of the "normal" world!

It was really good to see them both & give them hugs - what else can we do?

The soldier is to have full military honours at a local ancient Priory, we hope to be able to attend & I will share the experience here if I may?

It does make you think about life's mortal coil.

The best we can do to honour sacrifice is to live life to the full :D

Worked the graveyard shift, (as usual) and headed to the airport right afterwards. Flew to Los Angeles so I could attend the funeral for my cousins wife. Hell of a way to start my two weeks off... Still running on fumes, need some sleep...

I Had to go to Norwich today (about 80 miles each way). I dithered for an hour over whether I should ride or go by train. Pros and cons. I changed my mind several times. Eventually I went by bike. It was cold but exhilirating. The roads were not special but it was fun. It was a good day out. I got back home feeling better for the ride.

Today I went to Lee's Summit and bought a EX 250. When it's cleaned up it will be a sweet little ride. :kicking:
