Suzuki S40 backfire problem
My 2009 Suzuki S40 will not run without leaving it on full choke now. Push in the choke it dies. If I open the throttle it will try to start but will back fire. I guess I let it sit too long this winter without starting it. Will a good carb cleaning fix my problem or do I have bigger issues?

Re: Suzuki S40 backfire problem
Pilot circuit on the carburetor is dirty or plugged. You could try Seafoam, it's a fuel additive, if the problem isn't too bad it could clean out the varnish. Get it at an auto parts store, follow the directions on the can. It takes a little while to do it's work, it might be a couple of tankfuls of Seafoam-treated gas to get a noticeable improvement.
Otherwise, it's clean/rebuild the carb.
