Magazines you Recommend

I'm wondering which motorcycle-rider magazines everyone recommends, subscribes to, whatever. I bought two different magazines a couple months ago, Rider and RoadBike, and spent a lot of time trying to decide which one I preferred. Rider had a lot more detail concerning the 'favorite ride' layouts, and included maps. RoadBike had more product reviews and some tech articles (exhaust installation, heated hand grips, etc.), but the articles concering road trips were a little on the flimsy side. I don't care much for the new bike reviews, and I have no interest at all in extreme custom bike layouts. In the end, I decided to subscribe to both.

If everyone could post their thoughts about which magazines they prefer, and why, I'd appreciate it. I enjoy reading up on my hobby, at least, when the weather's too crappy to practice it, and I'd like some input as to which magazines offer what sort of emphasis.

I don't know if Motorcycle Escape is still around but it was a great one for touring articles. If Roadbike is the one I am thinking about they often use un-experienced riders to "test" new bikes and the perspective is really useless as they do not have the background to understand what they are riding. It is difficult to really find anyone who truly tests a new bike anymore with most of the articles being not a lot more than a short riding impression.

I like motorcyclist, they tend to give a decently rounded perspective of the motorcycle world. I don't like their bike reviews however. They let the long term test riders modify the bike to their tastes, which makes the review pretty useless IMO. You're testing the bike as they built it, not as you want it to be!

I subscribe to two magazines. Cycle World, for their articles on new bikes and equipment, and because I enjoy Peter Egan's Leanings column. I subscribe to Roadrunner for their articles on Touring. They always have a route from the U.S. and one International.

I really like the British magazine Bike. Excellent articles, nice writing and art direction, and often quite hilarious.

+1. We've subscribed to MCN for a few years and really enjoy it. We also subscribe to Rider (another favorite) and Cycle World. I've never read Road Bike.
