Well I did it

#1 Unread post by Scott58 »

Got the S50 today. Had a really bad week and this was a fitting way to turn it around. Road it for a couple of hours today. Tons of power (actually reminds me of an old 66 merc i had with a 4 speed, 390, 4 barrel carb.Kinda wierd but my mind went instantly to that care the second I got on it alittle bit). it has a nice feel for my size (5'8" 140lbs). As soon as I get some miles under my belt i'll review it.

Congratulations . Love them Suzukis .
Took my first 100 mile ride today since my back surgery . Yes , I can feel it some but it was well worth it .
Kindest regards, Wizzard

Oh yeah, keeping the Rebel. I love that little bike. I mainly bought the S50 for 2-up riding, but I have to admit the more I ride it the more i like it. Got almost 300 miles on it now and will write a review once I get better aquainted with it. Feels like a HotRod though and the gears are very tall and the power comes on in a pretty linear fashion. One thing i found though is suzuki claims this bike is fine on 87 octane gas which is pretty much nonsense. I almost thought i had made a serious mistake with its purchase. The first 85 miles were terrible (they filled it with 87). i put 92 octane in it and 1/2 mile or so later it was a totally different motorcycle. Everything mellowed out. Throttle response cleaned up nicely and I was really relieved that I did in fact make a good choice. I have a few pics here http://www.freewebs.com/scott58/ and i'll post some more this weekend after i download them from my camera.

Went down the same road with my Suzuki C50. Bike ran crappy on 87 octane, but once I had 91 octane in the tank, it ran like a champ.

Yeah I don't get it and it was the mechanic that went over the bike with me. Made a big point of telling me anything else is a waste of money out the tail pipe. Wait til i see that guy again.

Cool pics. You have MBS bad. I'm still trying to stave it off for a few months until I finish up a remodel, but it isn't easy.

Thanks, I really think i'm going to enjoy them both. I already know I like the Rebel. My shed is now packed. Thought I was going to have to pull the lawn tractor out of there for a minute, but I got everything to fit. I turned out to be a really good end to a very bad week I was having. TV crapped out, exhaust fell off the car, pc monitor fried. There's more but you get the idea!
